Tracy Packiam Alloway, PhD

I have spent over a decade leading cutting-edge research on the importance of Working Memory in education. My research has been supported by numerous government grants and I have managed research projects totaling over $1.5 million. I recently moved to the US from the UK, where I was the Director of the Center for Memory and Learning in the Lifespan.

In addition to publishing in scientific articles, I have also developed test batteries and written books on Working Memory for educators. My research has appeared in over 250 news articles, and I have been invited to comment on television and radio as an expert on Working Memory.

I also provide ad-hoc advice to the World Bank on the importance of working memory.

My commitment to bringing my scientific discoveries to a wide audience was rewarded in 2009, when I was the recipient of the prestigious Joseph Lister Award by the British Science Association.
